UNIVERSITY BAND

From Our University Band Members:

"As a non-music major, University Band enables me to keep music in my life after the marching band season has ended. Dr. Potter creates a fun atmosphere for band, a much-needed reprieve from my difficult coursework, while also providing challenging repertoire that improves my musicianship throughout the semester. Some of my proudest and happiest memories from college will have been performing for my friends and family with the Uband!"

"When I came to UMD, I wanted to keep doing music but was looking for something with a low time commitment—the University Band was perfect for that. It's just one night a week, but it lets me get away from being a busy engineering major to practice my saxophone and continue to improve my skills as a musician. Dr. Potter is a very knowledgeable conductor, but he's also a really approachable guy, and I've already learned so much from him.

Additional Information -

The University Band plays two to three concerts per semester, and is directed by Craig Potter, Assistant Director of Bands.
